Mrs. Leslie Craft, our new Gifted and Talented teacher, runs the GT Science Lab at AES where she teaches GT lessons using the lens of science.  This week’s lesson involved reading the story Colorful Caroline, where students were introduced to the primary colors: red, blue, and yellow. Next, Mrs. Craft mixed primary colors (using food coloring and water) together to make secondary colors: green, orange, and purple. Students were asked to make predictions about what colors they could make mixing red and yellow, red and blue, and blue and yellow.  Lastly, students got a chance to mix the primary colors themselves. Mrs. Craft put red, blue, and yellow colors using washable Crayola paint in ziploc bags.  Students were asked to mix the colors together to make secondary colors. After mixing colors, students were asked to check their predictions.  Pictured below are Mrs. Marsha Pedersen’s and Mrs. Vearlene Williamson’s classes as they participated in the lesson.
